Sylvane is a private 12-hectare estate in Abzac, in the Gironde, fifteen minutes from Saint-Émilion. This beautiful property is made up of two buildings: the château, an 18th-century chartreuse renovated in 2025, and the Caretaker’s House, a separate house. The château houses a spa area with a massage table and a vinotherapy bath, as well as a fitness room. Outside are an infinity pool, landscaped grounds, 7 hectares of private woodland with a natural pond, a permaculture vegetable garden and meadows where sheep and roe deer live. This property is ideal for a superb stay in the Gironde.

The château has 4 bedrooms and the Caretaker’s House (annex) has 2.

Note: 2 extra beds (90 cm) can be provided on request. Two baby cots are also available on request.


Indoors 

The château is an 18th-century chartreuse, renovated in 2025 and largely on a single level. It includes a living room with a fireplace, a dining room, a library set in the tower, a smoking room and a wine cellar. The professional-style kitchen is very well equipped. A meeting room is also available.
A wellness area brings together a vinotherapy bath, a massage room and a fitness room. The bedrooms are air-conditioned. Some of the older rooms, with their thick walls, are not. Heating is provided by underfloor heating and a pellet system.

The Caretaker’s House is a separate building. It offers a living room, a kitchen and two bedrooms upstairs.


Outdoors 

The estate covers 12 hectares. The château is surrounded by landscaped grounds and a summer garden with a summer kitchen and outdoor dining areas. You can enjoy an infinity pool (14 × 5 m, depth 1 to 1.6 m). In the vegetable garden, grown using permaculture, a large oak table is used for meals outdoors.
A private 7-hectare forest extends the property. It contains a natural pond* and a terrace set within the woods. Valais Blacknose sheep and roe deer roam freely in the meadows. A swing is set up in the garden.
The car park has around forty spaces.

*The pond is not fenced. Children must be accompanied at all times.


Staff & Services

The estate benefits from the attentive service of a housekeeper, who lives on site.
Breakfast is included, as well as daily cleaning of the bedrooms and shared areas. In the evening, a turndown service is offered.
A gardener looks after the grounds, the vegetable garden and the pool, and a maintenance technician takes care of the property’s technical upkeep.

Location

The estate is located in Abzac, in the Gironde, in the heart of the Libournais. The nearest shops are in Coutras, 8 km away. Saint-Émilion is fifteen minutes away by car, and Bordeaux forty-five minutes. Bordeaux-Mérignac airport is 65 km away, about an hour’s drive. The estate is a good base for exploring Saint-Émilion, Pomerol and the Dordogne valley.
