Indoors
The renovation honours the Douro’s rural soul: schist walls, traces of former treading tanks, and bright, flowing volumes. The vast living area revolves around convivial spaces where you can gather, play, share a drink or let dinner drift on, with seamless flow between indoors and out. Generous openings frame the landscape and flood the rooms with light, while hushed acoustics encourage peaceful moments.
The dining room comfortably hosts your group beside an open kitchen, designed for cooking together or letting the chef take the lead. The decor blends natural materials with contemporary touches, featuring deep, sink‑in seating and generous tables. For everyday comfort, air conditioning and Wi‑Fi make stays effortless in every season.
Outdoors
The infinity pool overlooks the river, extending the horizon; below, lawns slope gently down to the water. Terraces, some sheltered, invite sun‑drenched breakfasts and lingering late dinners. The private jetty makes arriving by boat—or heading out at day’s end—easy. The Douro railway runs discreetly behind the property, a reminder of local heritage. For safety, note that the pool is not fenced and the proximity of the river requires extra vigilance with children. On‑site parking simplifies arrivals.
Staff & Services
Each morning, a breakfast prepared with local produce sets the tone for the day, complemented by housekeeping and laundry. Concierge service is available around the clock to organise your stay.
On request, a traditional chef prepares lunches and dinners to agreed menus; the team is present during the day and drops off the evening meal (8 a.m. - 15 p.m.). For stays of one week or more, a welcome dinner may be offered for up to eight guests. Transfers, in‑villa treatments, pre‑stocking, excursions, personal trainer, childcare, baby equipment, security, interpreters and private guides can all be arranged.
